Shamita Shetty was born to Surendra Shetty and Sunanda who run a manufacturing business of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry. Shamita Shetty studied at St Anthony's Girls High School and later graduated in Commerce from Sydenham College in Mumbai. Shamita Shetty also holds a diploma in Fashion Design from SNDT. Shamita Shetty has an elder sister in Shilpa Shetty, a Bollywood actress and Big Brother celebrity winner.
