Rakhi Sawant born as Neeru Sawant on February 3rd, 1980 in Mumbai is a bold Bollywood actress who is well known for her raunchy item numbers in movies.

Rakhi Sawant was born to Sawant, a Mumbai cop and Usha Sawant, who dreamt of becoming an actress herself. But she realized her dreams in making her daughter Rakhi Sawant an actress much to the dislike of Rakhi Sawant's father. Rakhi Sawant has a brother named Rakesh Sawant, an upcoming Bollywood director and sister Jaya Sawant, married and settled in life. Rakhi Sawant is having a live-in relationship with Abhishek Awasthi.

Rakhi Sawant began her Bollywood debut in 1999 with "Dil Ka Sauda". The following year Rakhi Sawant bagged an item number in Govinda starrer "Joru Ka Gulam" {2000}. She has since been appearing in several movies giving her the raunchiest best as item girl in movies after movies. Her breakthrough came in 2003 with seven releases to her credit in that year. Ever since the Bollywood bombshell Rakhi Sawant rose to phenomenal heights in popularity in Bollywood that she got eight of her movies released in 2006. Rakhi Sawant is currently busy with four of her upcoming movies.

Controversies have become an integral part of Rakhi Sawant's life. She was once booked by the Kolhapur cops for her raunchy dances on stages. The cops thus refused to give her permission to perform on stages because they fear that her sexy dances in revealing outfits causes law and order problems. She was refused permission in Hyderabad and several other cities before. Even in jails she was denied permission to visit prisoners as part of her charity events. In 2006, she filed a case of molestation against pop singer Mika Mehndi for he allegedly grabbed her onto him and gave a long lip-locked kiss in front of several celebrity guests who attended Mika Mehndi's birthday party.
