Namitha born as Namitha Kapoor on May 10th, 1981 in Surat district of Gujarat State in India is one of the talented actresses in Kollywood and Tollywood.
Namitha was born into a Gujarati family. The only girl child in the family, Namitha lived in a joint family amidst several aunts, uncles and 25 cousins who are all boys. Namitha graduated in English literature from a college in Surat and got her BA degree.
After winning Miss Surat in 1998, Namitha has set her sights on Miss India crown. At 2001 Miss India contest voluptuous Namitha secured third position. Namitha, the buxom beauty has appeared in numerous commercials endorsing products like Manikchand Gutka, Nile Herbal shampoo, Himani cream and soaps and Arun ice cream.
The gorgeous Namitha made her debut in movies in 2002 with a couple of Telugu movies "Gemini" and "Sontam". Both the movies became hits. Namitha's Tamil debut movie "Engal Anna" {2004} starring opposite Vijayakanth became one of the biggest hits in Kollywood and catapulted her to super stardom in Tamil cinema. The hot n sexy actress Namitha has since appeared in over fifteen Tamil movies and few Telugu movies. She has also acted in Kannada, Hindi and an English movie each.
