Madhuri Dixit born as Madhuri Shankar Dixit on May 15th, 1967 in Mumbai is a wonderful Bollywood actress who has ruled Bollywood for decades like an empress with her awe-inspiring performances in movies. The beautiful actress Madhuri Dixit has won awards galore for her stunning performances in several movies. The Government of India too has awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2008 in recognition of her immense contribution to Indian cinema.
Madhuri Dixit was born to Shankar Dixit and his wife Snehlata Dixit. Madhuri Dixit has two younger sisters Rupa and Bharati and an elder brother Ajit Dixit. Madhuri Dixit who aspired to become a micro-biologist graduated in biological sciences from Parle College affiliated to Mumbai University.
Madhuri Dixit began her movie debut in 1984 with "Abodh". Though the movie failed at the box office, Madhuri Dixit made her presence felt in the movie with her histrionic talents. She has since appeared in several blockbuster hits such as "Ram Lakhan", "Parinda", and "Tridev" {all 1989 releases}, "Saajan" {1991}, "Beta" {1992}, "Khal Nayak" {1993}, "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" {1994}, "Raja" {1995}, "Dil To Pagal Hai" {1997}, "Pukar" {2000}, "Lajja" {2001}, "Devdas" {2002} and "Aaja Nachle" {2007}. Madhuri Dixit has acted in over sixty movies and her great acting talents have come in for much praise from the critics and innumerable fans.
An accomplished Kathak dancer she is, Madhuri Dixit's hip-swinging sexy dance numbers such as 'Ek do teen' in "Tezaab", Bada Dukh Diya in "Ram Lakhan", Dhak Dhak in "Beta", "Channe Ke Khet Mein" in "Anjaam", Choli Ke Peechhe in "Khalnayak", Akhiyan Milaun in "Raja", Piya Ghar Aya in "Yaarana", Key Sera in "Pukar", Maar Daala in "Devdas" have all catapulted her to super stardom in Bollywood. Even to this day these songs are well remembered by her fanatic fans.

Hussain has also paid tributes to Madhuri Dixit by making a movie called "Gaja Gamini" in 2000, wherein he showed the various facets of her womanhood in the movie.
Madhuri Dixit has married on October 17th, 1999 a US-based doctor Sriram Madhav Nene, who is a practicing cardiovascular surgeon in Denver, USA. The couple together has two sons Arin born in March 2003 and Ryan born in March 2005.
