Lara Dutta was born to retired Wing Commander L. K. Dutta and his Scottish wife Jennifer Dutta. Lara Dutta has two older sisters. Lara Dutta grew up in Bangalore and completed her high school studies at St. Francis Xavier Girl's High School. Lara Dutta took her degree in economics with a minor in communications from Bombay University.
Lara Dutta first won the annual Gladrags modeling competition and later won the 1997 Miss Intercontinental pageant. Lara Dutta later was crowned Miss Universe in 2000.
Lara Dutta made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with "Andaaz" starring opposite Akshay Kumar. The movie became a box office hit and sexy Lara Dutta has won a Filmfare Debut award. She has since appeared in a number of movies.
