Bipasha Basu, the dusky model has become one of the most sought after actresses in bollywood. She won multiple awards and honors for her splendid performances in films.

Bipasha Basu was born on January 7th, 1979 in New Delhi and grew up in Calcutta. She has two sisters, an elder Bidisha and younger Bijoyeta. Bipasha aspired to become a doctor and so pursued science subjects in her Plus 2 at Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir. But the fear of dissecting rats in the science lab ended her dreams to become a doctor. She then decided to pursue Chartered Accountant course soon after graduating in commerce from the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College, an affiliate of University of Calcutta.

But destiny willed otherwise. Bipasha Basu had a chance meeting with the famous Indian supermodel Mehr Jessia who suggested her to become a model. Bipasha thus contested for and won the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel title in 1996 at the age of seventeen. She also won the title of Miss Vivacious from Tulips. The vibrant Bipasha Basu possessed great magical charm and an aura of immense sensuality in her which made the world of modeling and bollywood gasp at her sensuous beauty.

Bipasha Basu did several commercial campaigns including Reebok shoes and walked the ramp for almost all the celebrity designers across India. Bipasha has also gyrated oozing sensuousness to the lilting melodies of Sonu Nigam's "Kismat" album and also of Jay Sean's "Stolen" album.

Bipasha made her bollywood debut with 'Ajnabee' in 2001 starring Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol. She gave a brilliant performance for which she won Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Her passionate performance in 'Raaz' which became a mega hit in 2002, and in 'Jism' her villainous role won her critical applause. This versatile actress went on to give critical performances excelling in whatever roles she played.

From a passionate wife in 'Raaz' to a murderous scheming wife of a millionaire in 'Jism' to her hottest sexy number 'beedi jalaile' in 'Omkara' have all made her one of the most vibrant actresses in bollywood. She received Filmfare awards nominations besides winning several other awards for her splendid performances in movies like 'No Entry', 'Corporate', 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', 'Dhoom 2' and several others.

After conquering bollywood, Bipasha has gone Hollywood with 'Chaimera' starring opposite Billy Zane who played villain in Hollywood blockbuster 'Titanic'. The film 'Chaimera is to be directed by Hollywood filmmaker Daniel Silverman.


Bipasha Basu has also appeared in a Telugu film 'Takkari Donga' starring Mahesh Babu and guest-performed in a Tamil film 'Sachein' and had a leading role in a Bengali film Rituparno Ghosh's 'Sob Choritro Kalponik'.

Bipasha Basu whose sensuous beauty could trigger passionate feelings in men has at last found her man, a model-turned-bollywood actor John Abraham. Hot Bipasha has been dating John Abraham for several years since 2002; and both have also decided to get into wedlock soon.

Bipasha Basu has also had a brief romance with Cristiano Ronaldo, the magnificent footballer of Manchester United when she met him at a function in Lisbon, the hometown of Cristiano Ronaldo. She is also said to have dated another Indian supermodel and bollywood actor Dino Morea before falling in love with John Abraham.

Bipasha Basu was listed at #2 on Eastern Eye magazine's 'Asia's Sexiest Women' in 2006 and to this day not a bit of her sexiness has waned.
